No Democrat answered my big question after 12 hours. There’s no reason why they can’t answer after this, but there’s something I’d like to say to all the Dean and Kucinich supporters:
As long as you aren’t prepared to walk from the party in the event that the DLC forces another neoRepublican candidate down our throats, they will keep not delivering on the issues we prize the most.
I’m prepared to walk if the Democrats don’t get a clue and start campaigning against the Patriot Act and for things like the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq and national health care for all. Voting isn’t a horserace where you try to bet on a winner: it’s your big chance to see your conscience expressed as a member of the national community. If the rest of you Democrats aren’t ready to stand for your conscience, if you keep chanting “anyone but Bush” even if it is Christopher Lieberman, then you deserve the mouth of tar that you’re going to get from sucking the teat of that volcano.
The DLC is holding Bush like a knife to our throats so we will take whatever they feed us. I suggest that we take that “if you don’t go along you’ll get Bush” knife for ourselves and make them bargain and compromise with us.
