It’s NOT Snowing

Posted on May 27, 2003 in Book of Days Weather

Note: This is part of a series based on exercises from A Writer’s Book of Days. It’s something of a rebellion against the Friday Five and similar tupperware content memes.

Today’s topic: It’s snowing.

Note: As a Californian, I know next to nothing about the long term realities of snow or snow storms. I have seen snow fall maybe six or seven times in my forty five years of life. I have seen freezing rain once. So I shall be brief.

The temperature today got to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Balls of cotton halved and quartered dropping from the sky allude to the warmth of red clay fields, fat for the harvest, under the sun of late summer. They deny their resemblance by their character.

Want to participate? First either get yourself a copy of A Writer’s Book of Days by Judy Reeves or read these guidelines. Then either check in to see what the prompt for the day is or read along in the book.

Tomorrow’ topic/prompt: Write about a time someone said yes.
