I find things on the beach that I’m not sure other people notice. The other day, when we went to look at the Cristainitos Fault at San Onofre State Beach, I turned an hour and a half long walk into a two and a half hour walk simply by stopping to photograph stones that interested me.
For my Localhikes.com report, I wrote this excellent line:
Trail 1 takes you from a parking lot where you are drenched by the noise from I-5 to water-bleached silence.
I can never bring that silence back in a photograph. Even when I show people throwing frisbees or shouting to each other, I can hear the waves far louder than their joyous noises. Can you?
