Bastille Day

Posted on July 14, 2003 in Festivals

Today is French Independence Day. It is good to remember that the French are not just clones of the United States, that they have their own minds and hearts. It’s good because the words of the French people and leadership have offered an important check against the lies of the man who stole the White House as he attempts to cloud our perspective on his incompetence and evil with his endless wars.

Today is a day for all people who love freedom to sing the praises of free nations with duly elected leaders. Today is the day when we should remember our debt to France: without it, there would be no United States.

Viva la France!
