Note: This is part of a series based on exercises from A Writer’s Book of Days. It’s something of a rebellion against the Friday Five and similar tupperware content memes.
Today’s topic: Write about an epiphany.
This is a prompt that demands a huge commitment of time. Concentration must be absolute and the mind must be accompanied by no more than the normal sounds of the night. This is not possible today due to the fact that we are rushing around trying to tie things down in preparing for a roofing crew that is going to be repairing our condo tomorrow.
I must evacuate the house on both Tuesday and Wednesday so they can complete their work. I will ice the cats before I go and place fans in strategic positions. When I return in the evening, I will open all the windows and bring them out of the house. This is a lousy time for our air conditioner to have failed.
Others who participate:
Want to participate? First either get yourself a copy of A Writer’s Book of Days by Judy Reeves or read these guidelines. Then either check in to see what the prompt for the day is or read along in the book.
Tomorrow’ topic/prompt: It was that kind of day.
