Return of the Air Conditioner

The air conditioning man is coming today, so it’s an early bedtime for me and an early rise (I’m used to awakening in the mid afternoon because I am at the computer all night).

As those who saw the pictures I displayed of my immediate environs know, we’ve been having light cloud cover: typically, there’s been haze hanging maybe fifty feet over us, then a much higher layer of broken up cumulus clouds, and then the false ceiling that we call the sky. This pattern has cooled things to the low nineties (low thirties for you Celsius speakers), making life in the house bearable.

I’m not sure what is going to be done tomorrow. We’ve got loads of notes from last year showing that there’s a freon leak. Insurance promises to replace the whole unit and the thermostat. They have changed providers: the clowns who kept bungling the paperwork last year are gone.

I may actually get some comfort during the months of August and September this year.
