Though the heat declines in intensity and we’re supposed to have rain, I still feel the soft-cratered spiritual morbidity in my temples and above my eyes.
The AC man brings the new unit on Friday. I shall spend the weekend filling my sinuses with refrigerated air and enjoy feeling the convolutions of my brain ever so slightly unfolding after two months of cramp.
Then I can sit in the square backed red chair and watch the hummingbirds joust. If the syrup has fermented amply, maybe I will catch the olive-habited she-oriole going on her weekly bender.
