The clouds that have been passing over us these last several days finally relented and wept for us. (The picture above is heavily retouched for “artistic reasons”.) The actual rainfall or fog drip barely wet the sidewalks. No puddles stand in the aftermath of our August storm. The dirt around our potted cactus is darker than usual and the seats of the deck chairs had water in them. You can barely smell the remnants of this storm, much less see them except that the moss on certain concrete paths appears greener.
The belly of the cloud is about 4000 feet above us. I know this because the tops of Mounts Modjeska and Santiago are enveloped by a cloud that makes them look like a single volcano. Summer clouds cool us a bit, but never dump much. Nothing drought-breaking at least.
