I’ve been a supporter of the InterNet as “folk revolution” as long as I have had an email account (since 1988). Aortal.com is not a network or a portal, but a movement of bloggers who, each week, promote another blog. This is a Thursday series. I encourage others to do the same.
If you’re not a regular reader of Yule Heibel’s weblog, you should be. Yule is another asker of impertinent questions, particularly where the issues pertain to materialism and life on the web. Like me, she questions the culture of fear which exists all around us in America today. Like me, she fuses socialism and libertarianism in her thought, as an antidote to the authoritarian capitalism that dominates our life today.
When I read yesterday’s thoughts about how we’ve worn ourselves down trying to meet standards of success, I said “This woman speaks truth.”
Pssst. A little secret: I’m still trying to figure out how to pronounce her name, too. It’s not Yoolie or Yool. She says it is something else. Maybe we can persuade her to record a wav file and put it on her site?
