Kathryn Cramer’s being weirded out by John Kerry’s recent hunting expedition reminds me of a story I heard about an English nobleman and his Russian cousin. The cousin seemed a bit bored, so the Englishman gave him a rifle so he could hunt game on his morning walks. One morning, at breakfast, the Englishman asked “So how was your walk today?”
“I shot two peasants,” said the Russian.
The Englishman laughed. “PHeasants, Yuri. You mean PHeasants.”
“No,” said the Russian. “PEASANTS. They were insolent, so I shot them!”
