The forest green suits of Orange County’s finest displayed themselves this afternoon at the corner of El Toro and Portola Parkway. Two squad cars, blinking doom, and two deputies demanding identification from a woman sitting on the sidewalk accompanied by a grocery cart and a big black plastic bag. You know what that means. They’re strict here. They don’t stand by and allow Catholic Workers, for example, to violate zoning ordinances just to put up all the indigent families other agencies keep sending them. And imagine what one homeless woman could do to the violence rate! Evil thing might tempt our resident bikers into going on a rampage or, worse, block the church goers in line to see Passion at the local cinemaplexes.
If you’re the person who turned her in, you should pray for your soul.
Elsewhere in the county, a humorless legal assistant nearly caused the city of Aliso Viejo to ban water.
