Crows

Crows have taken over a tall pine tree a short block away. Every ten seconds, the Voice of the Crows utters a single word to establish his control of the channel. A covey of young house finches nesting under the curved roof tiles offer the only dissent. Crow wins because Crow is loud and Crow is persistant.

A few minutes ago, I heard several crow voices arguing. For a moment, I tried to make out what they were saying. The bickering cadences sounded human. I wanted to go out and tell them what I thought of the issue.
