I’ve been licking at a flat manhole cover in the space before my last surviving molar on the lower right hand side. Now there’s a post there that my tongue seeks out like a cat seeking a scratching place for her chin. This morning, my periodontist torqued it in, using a tiny screwdriver which he operated from a dial at the tip of the handle. In all my future x-rays, I will see this bolt in my jaw where the molar used to be. Next week, I get impressions made and then a crown.
My regular dentist read the note I delivered when I arrived for a teeth cleaning. All measurement are in Newton centimeters, meaning small.
