I write my share of bad poetry. There are some poems which come out of the dens and demand attention. “I want to be a poem,” they say. To be a poem demands that they be either recited or put somewhere where people will see. I put my bad poems up on my blog. This is how they come to leave me alone so I can work on others for more serious projects.
Now and then I misjudge. A piece proves to be better than I thought. I make revisions and take it off to a reading, hoping that others did not see that it appeared on this site.
