Which lunatic do you prefer? The purple-robed, poetry-reciting child molester that Gene Wilder portrayed or the green-faced, cynical maniac as acted by Johnny Depp? How do you like your Ompaloompas? Orange in the face and varied or all in the likeness of Deep Roy? Is the standard musical soundtrack what moves you or the rock and roll rhythm? Would you get in the bed with any of the grandparents in either of the films? Don’t tell me that you didn’t prefer Helena Bonham Carter to Diane Sowle! And what about Jack Albertson versus David Kelly? If you haven’t figured out the theme of this thread, it’s Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory versus Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
