Sturm und Drang

Posted on May 3, 2006 in Encounters Weather

square356It rained lightly late last night. I found this out when I opened the front door, descended the stairs, and fetched my day planner out of my truck. Water seeped through the soles of my socks. I did not feel cold. A light fog hovered just out of my touch. I picked up my calendar and took it back to the house.

I had feared that I had lost it. There was an upsetting incident in the Tuesday support group. I stood up for myself when a fellow interrupted me and the person attacked me. Vainly and nastily. Thanks to my heart condition and the lithium, I trembled to a shake very fast. Fear. Was it anger? someone asked after. No fear. My antagonist ended his tantrum by leaving.

When I looked for the calendar just after midnight, I couldn’t find it. I panicked then went outside to search for it. “Oh,” I said to myself. “It’s there. I remember it being in the truck afterwards. But get it anyways. That way you’ll have it and you’ll know it is safe.”

The early morning drizzle comforted me. My tortured thoughts dissipated like drops from above hit the pavement and lose their identity by spreading.
