To the Democratic National Committee:
You want to win in 2004? Show some guts. The Shrub is not invincible. But you have to start taking stands and showing that you are the Party of the People.
People flooded to the support of the late Paul Wellstone when he put his fears of defeat aside and voted his conscience. They respected his courage. Wellstone had a program. The rest of the Party seems like a bunch of nodding dummies.
If you guys can’t handle it, give the DNC to those who can and will win elections for us.
We need our version of Ronald Reagan who will make it clear to those who can’t say No to George W. Bush that they are not welcome. We need to make it clear that when you cast a vote for a Democrat — for any Democrat, you stand for things like a single payer health plan, the curbing of monopolies, preservation of Constitutional Liberties, and justice for all.
We need guts up there leading us Democrats. We say this every election. When are you going to take the hint?
