9-11 and the Reichstag Fire

Even if Gore Vidal is wrong (and I would rather have it that he is), the Bush Administration has played the 9-11 catastrophe like the Nazis played the Reichstag Fire. We’ve lost freedom and we’ve been told to smile smile smile.

In a few weeks time, U.S. forces will begin landing at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. I wonder: is this our Ethiopia or have we already got to the Sudentenland?

To conservatives whiners who don’t like the analogy: if the shoe fits, wear it or change your politics.
