Lynn’s job application is being held up by someone who believes that she’s “not assertive enough”. Evidentally, this fellow feels that despite the fact that the company’s purpose is to make a bug-free product, a superior employee is someone who can keep an argument going for hours, not one who can fix the product and meet the customers’ demands (for which Lynn has a proven track record). The idea of technical leadership that some hold in their minds can prove fatal to corporate health.
