This is a dark Christmas for me, one of the saddest I have had in a long time. It’s truly a Silent Night, so cold that the coyotes won’t howl because it expends heat that they need to get through this night. I wish this on no one else, though I do not doubt that others suffer in this world tonight.

Instead of darkness, then, allow me to give an ever-so-feeble gift of light to you all.

Please, have a jolly Christmas. Drink the cider, laugh with your family, remember the loved ones who have gone on, enjoy the presents you receive and the ones you give to others. If there is no God, remember that there are people who love you. Cherish them and do not forget the ones you love until it is too late for them to know that you care.
