Scattered fragments of dreams from the last few days.

  1. Lynn and I have gone on a trip to Egypt as part of some study abroad program which begins with us walking from the Salton Sea to a visitor center on the edge of Egypt. Lynn goes inside while the rest of us wait for a bus. It arrives and we’re all packed on board, except for Lynn who is left behind. When I arrive at the other end, I start to walk back through a crowd of people who are reenacting the Crucifixion. Except that in this version, they’ve dispensed with the story leading up to it and the Ressurection: an impersonator wearing loose saffron robes hangs on the cross. I walk back through the scattering of people assembled to see this show. I find Lynn looking for the rest of us at the visitor center, which is three blocks away, and lead her back to watch the curious ceremony, pointing out its unusual aspects as we walk.
  2. I accidentally let Tracy into a house where the owners do not want any cats. There are several cats and people trying to get in. My mother stands in the hallway, talking to someone on a speaker phone about getting grants. The guy at the other end mentions some programs for people with disabilities. I listen intently, asking questions. As I take down an address, my mother takes the phone into another room where I cannot go.

Tanya wrote about a weird dream that she had in which Drew Carey figures as God. Does he keep us all in a Grand Central Station locker like the fuzzy wuzzy aliens that K has in Men in Black II?
