Regular blog begins after this entry.
While we’re off exploring the continent’s most polluted city, I invite my readers to explore some questions regarding writing. You may answer either in a comment or on your blog. Here’s a trackback wizard for those who don’t have Movable Type.
There are two separate sets of questions, one for published writers and one for the rest.
For the published writers and journalists:
- Do you ever do assignments for free?
- If your writing stopped producing an income, would you continue to write?
- If your editor meticulously rewrote everything you produced, would you keep submitting?
- Do you put much of yourself in your professional writing? Is it allowed?
For nonpublished writers and readers:
- Do you wish to be published?
- Would you be willing to keep writing even if it never produces any income for you?
- Would you allow your writing to be published if it meant that an editor went over your work and removed your signature touches?
For everyone:
- Why do you write? Why do you read?
- Aside from your blog and your work, what writing projects are you carrying out?
- Do you have any interests such as painting or photography which complement your writing?
- Would you censor your writing if it became a political liability to speak your mind freely?
- If you learned tomorrow that you could never again write, what would you do?
For Crazy Tracy:
- Tell us what kind of Tupperware do you keep in your house.
