Blogging in Iraq

Posted on March 10, 2003 in Peace

Remember when the patriots of the Sovereign Empire of Bush were saying stuff like “why don’t you go to Iraq?” and I asked them to put their money where their mouth was? As expected, when you asked them to back their words with their wallets, the conservatives wimped out. Nary a dollar was given to the cause of ousting me from the land of my birth and putting me where the oil trenches shall burn. (I guess they thought who will they gloat at when they start spending some of that trillion dollar deficit they’ve been running up.)

For the record, I’ll still take the money.

In the meantime, you might be interested to know that there are a few bloggers in Iraq. Yes, they have electricity for the time being and they’re telling the stories of what is going on in those final days before the terrible American fire storm sweeps out of the Persian Gulf. I know that there are some people who think they shouldn’t be allowed to do this and that I am a traitor for linking to them. God forbid that we see the people of Iraq as people who have feelings, as bodies with hearts and minds that will get blown to bits!
