Taxpayer Dollars for Propaganda

Posted on April 10, 2003 in Mailbox Roach-B-Gone

Sargent Lori Dupree may or may not be a real person, but the fact is that someone using a Hickam AFB account is using your taxpayer dollars to promote the war in Iraq. Using any government account for political purposes is against the law. Undoubtably, this will get me put on an enemies list, but I have reported her (including her full headers) both to the United States Air Force and to my senators for disciplinary action. The full headers have been included.

If my brother, who works for the Department of Labor, cannot work on political campaigns or promote causes using his government email account, then neither can Sgt. Dupree. There’s a Republican-passed measure called the Hatch Act which prohibits what Dupree is doing.

I guess breaking international law was only the beginning: now our men and women in the armed forces think they are above the laws that govern all government employees.
