Not only will you not read about the Trump vs. Rosie feud, but you will also not read about how Ahnold broke his leg in Idiotho.

Posted on December 22, 2006 in Xenartha

How about an anteater for your favorite child? Anteaters do mix with Christmas as Aunt Eater shows.

Who needs cat or squid blogging when anteaters combine the best qualities of both?

square154I’ve been neglecting my friend Will Brady. In a recent panoramic search of his blog, I was informed of a site dedicated to Defective Drugs. Thanks Will.

The only psychotropics that appear are Lamictal, Zoloft, and Zyprexa.

Person of the Year — It’s Not A Silver Rectangle

Posted on December 19, 2006 in Campaign 2006 Journalists & Pundits

“It’s about the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes.”

Time Magazine’s Lev Grossman.

Don’t mean to rain on your parade, but Time magazine is really not that into YOU – they’re into YOUr buying their magazine.

Huffington Post’s Gus Tsabar

square153Yes, I agree with those who feel that Time Magazine copped out when they nominated “You” as the Person of the Year. For shame that they overlooked Howard Dean who dispensed with a losing Democratic strategy and brought electoral battles to every state, every district, giving us the first Democratic majority since 1994. “Dean’s too mean” they might have said. Or maybe their trendy editorial pool was simply unaware of Dean’s mission. Or, more likely, they didn’t want to fuel the fire which has upset the power of the president and threatened to put an end to the war in Iraq by shifting the focus to what we wear and what we buy. The nation was rocked this past November and all they could think of was a slick shiny surface that couldn’t reflect what it saw. There’s a metaphor in that, a strong one, for the way that journalists efface reality with their glosses.

And to tell the truth, I don’t think I deserve it. Maybe in 2007.
