Moral Decline

Just to dwell on today’s incident a little more: I believe America is in moral decline. It’s not about sex. It’s about greed and violence. It’s about people calling principled men and women who don’t think we should bomb our problems out of existence “cowards”. It’s about ridiculing saints. It is about pressing people who could be saints to ignore their consciences and their rational minds, to give in to hate. It’s not just the chickenhawks of Right. The middle of the roaders have fobbed off personal lack of firm principle as a high and holy thing. These call for unleashing the terrible might of nations against civilians and can’t see the terrorist staring back at them from the mirror.
