A Clue for Certain Friends

Posted on August 22, 2002 in Peace

Enough! Yet another IRC pacifist declared that we shouldn’t war in Iraq because our boys will die. Haven’t they figured it out? The brass will nod to them and build bombs so they can hammer the enemy of the hour from on high. It’s not just our boys. It’s their boys, too. And their girls, their old grannies, the pale women secreted in their harems, and their sun-wizened men who sip syrupy coffee and play backgammon. By embracing all of humanity, the pacifist makes it impossible for any one to please him with a killing. The slightest misstatement provides the cunning militarist with a hole large enough to shoot a cruise missile through.
