Giant Butterfly

A rare California Giant Swallowtail caught at the San Diego Wild Animal Park last Friday. The man in the image was engaged viewing an apparition of the Virgin Mary.

style="color:white;">This is an unintentional “trick shot”. The butterfly and the man are both real, but the wingspan of the butterfly is only about 2 1/2 inchs long and the man is actually standing in the background.

You may also wish to check my main page to see the new picture in the portrait sequence in the upper right hand corner.

Ok, I’ll bite. Is that a real butterfly and is it really that big?

Kimber: it is a real butterfly and an undoctored photograph. The explanation can be found by clicking on MORE (if you are coming from the main page) and working mouse magic on the blank box….
