Even when it rains, the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend drains the county of its people. It’s easy to find seats in a restaurant even on Saturday nights and to park at the malls. Everyone runs to Vegas or the River: campgrounds fill up with guzzlers of pale ale who stare out the windows of their motorhomes at the rain and the landings where they hope to float their boats. All that waiting for one sliver of time when they can mount their waterskis and help Osama Bin Laden’s cause by burning up unnecessary gas.
